Hiking
Research has shown that walks in nature can decrease anxiety and improve your overall mood. Fortunately for visitors and locals alike, Panama City Beach is full of stunning hiking locations. St. Andrews State Park has two main trails: one is right next to Gator Lake and the other is by the Turpentine Mill. PCB Conservation Park, which covers 2900 acres and features 24 miles of trails. While that sounds extensive, the 24 miles are broken into 12 color-coded trails, so that you can pick the distance you would prefer. The shortest trail is around 0.6 miles, with the longest trail coming in at 11 miles long. While the trails at the Conservation Park are on flat terrain, the two trails at St. Andrews have hilly sections. Camp Helen State Park has a popular Oak Canopy Trail that overlooks a salt marsh and allows you to walk within a maritime forest. The park, which is located on Panama City Beach Parkway, also offers binoculars at the Visitor Center for bird-watching. All three of these parks have picnic areas, if you’d like to turn your hiking into a half or full-day adventure!
Fees:
St. Andrews State Park: $8 per vehicle
PCB Conservation Park: Free
Camp Helen State Park: $4 per vehicle
